    Stein Mart is currently seeking a results oriented professional enthusiastic about customer service and fashion. We are looking for an individual with experience leading a retail team who can ensure the store is focused on achieving sales goals, customer service and the shopping experience, and developing internal talent.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Model a positive customer service spirit, exhibiting a friendly and helpful attitude with customers and associates.
    • Work with Associates throughout the store to achieve service standards.
    • Maintain an appealing store environment.
    • Utilize Stein Mart's merchandising guidelines and directives to create inviting merchandise displays.
    • Build relationships that foster a healthy team environment.
    • Provide information and communicate effectively.
    • Make informed decisions.
    • Develop a thorough knowledge of Stein Mart's policies and procedures.
    • Partner with the Store Management Team to interview, select and hire Associates.
    • Utilize Stein Mart training and development resources to develop job skills and provide information to help others learn.
    • Supervise and coordinate Store activities.
    • Develop weekly store schedules.
    • Create and implement plans to reach objectives.
    • Contribute to maintaining a safe and secure store environment.
    • Manage the merchandising areas to optimize selling space and maximize selling potential.
    • Maintain human resource documentation and reporting.
    • Supervise Cash Office procedures.
    • Maintain an efficient and effective Receiving Department.

    Qualifications

    • High school graduate or equivalent (GED), Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Minimum 2 to 4 years applicable retail work experience, including a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
    • Demonstrated expertise in retail merchandising and operational skills.
    • Comfortable with change, enjoys variety in work and thrives on creating novel solutions.
    • Strong interest and desire to work with people.
    • Results oriented; demonstrated ability to make informed decisions, complete tasks and problem solve.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Possess strong numeric reasoning skills (i.e., proficiency in adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and calculating percentages).
    • Computer keyboard knowledge and experience using a computer in a Windows environment, using e-mail and using the internet.
    • Moderate physical effort required; Standing and walking will constitute 95% or more of a work shift.
    • Ability to relocate.
